The Colors of Salvation
The Colors of Salvation is meant as a helpful memory aid. These colors are said to represent the colors of the Road to Salvation. The colors are Black, Red, White, Green, and Gold.
This is what the colors represent:
Black represents Sin
Red represents the Blood of Jesus
White represents Perfection
Green represents Growth and Everlasting Life
Gold represents the City of God
Black represents Sin
Sin and darkness keep us from God. God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. The Holy Word of God reveals to us that all people are sinners and live in darkness.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
1 John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
1 John 1:5-7 ¶ 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
Red represents the Blood of Jesus
Red represents the Blood of Jesus that He shed on our behalf. Because God loved us so much, and because everyone sins, God made a Way for us to come to Him. God decided to pay the price for our sins Himself. So God came to us as His Son Jesus Christ. The penalty of sin is death, so Jesus died for our sins. This is God's Gift of Love to us.
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Mark 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
White represents Perfection.
White represents Perfection, Holiness, and Righteousness. Jesus' blood washes away all our sins and makes us pure white, without any sin at all. God forgives us of all our sins and remembers them no more. Because of Jesus' gift, when God judges our lives, He sees Jesus' pure, perfect life that Jesus lived on our behalf.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Green represents Growth and Everylasting Life
Green represents Growth and Eternal Life. When we accept God's Gift of Love, we become part of God's Family. We are like little green plants which have a lot of growing ahead of us. Each and everyday, and for the rest of all eternity, Christians grow in God's love, truth, and life.
Psalms 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Revelation 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
1 Peter 1:7-9 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
